John Guilbeau
Background
John Guilbeau has represented Lafayette Parish Council District 4 since January 2020, currently serving his second term. Born and raised in Carencro, Louisiana, he is a lifelong Lafayette Parish resident.
Guilbeau retired after 34 years as a senior official with the Louisiana Department of Education. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana and a master's degree from the University of Tennessee, and is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. He is also a graduate of the Burke Baker School of Real Estate. His service background includes the U.S. Navy and volunteer firefighting.
During his tenure on the Parish Council, Guilbeau has served as both Council Vice Chair and Council Chair. He is married to Vickie and has three sons and eight grandchildren.
